In the last half of 2011, work began to convert this old Renaissance hotel into an new Andaz hotel. The three guest wings of the original hotel will be remodeled as part of the new hotel. Opening is planned for 2013.
Andaz Wailea will be a 255-unit luxury hotel with personal service, with restaurant, four outdoor infinity pools, spa, bar, gym, and meeting space.
The top restaurant in the new Andaz Wailea Resort will be called Morimoto Maui, run by Iron Chef Masaharu, who has been on TV in Iron Chef and Iron Chef America.
